Use Color to Pull the Composition Together
“Speckles” may not be the name of the pattern but it’s definitely how I think of the image. This photo is from the same series as the Wasabi post prior to this, and uses the overhead theme I designed for entire series. (Photo originally created for Woodmere China, since purchased by Steelite International)
This was a little more difficult to set up due to the need to raise the dinner plate, cup and bread plate on the upper right above the rest. Everything is also carefully placed and held in postion with putty. The fanned array on the left is also puttied together and then kept level with foam wedges underneath. The fruit bowl was positioned to take advantage of the leading lines coming in from the bottom right corner

This photograph has a yellow table cloth underneath the glass shelf. It replaces the green paper and glass beads in the Wasabi set. The cloth has been pulled and wrinkled to create the lined shadow texture underneath to create leading lines. A light with a grid has been placed to enhance the shadows.
