About Jeff
As a photographic problem solver specializing in the creation of images that give personality to businesses, it is my professional purpose to connect you to your clients, display your product and service at their best and ultimately increase your bottom line.
Having built four commercial photo studios for my own use over the decades, it was a fantastic opportunity this past year to be called upon to build, staff and run a huge video and photo studio for a local corporation. Now that this project is completed, I’m back to what I love most – working with you!
My special concentration is in advertising, with emphasis on food, jewelry and executive portraiture. It’s a joy to create images that exceed the expectations of our clients – be they local, regional or national.
Great Frederick restaurants like Firestone’s Market, The Tasting Room, Black Hog BBQ and Cellar Door, plus industries like Manitowoc-National Crane, JLG, RoosterBio, Praxair, Werner Ladders, Joy Cones, Trinity Inc., Lowe’s Home Improvement, Reliant Electric, Parker-Hannifin, Berner International Air Doors, and many others trust us with their public image. Publications like TIME , Cheers, Appalachian, Pittsburgh, DRY Fashion and other magazines grace their pages with our images.
Having spent a quarter century in this industry near Pittsburgh, it’s no surprise that the china and steel industries long figured prominently in my work. Now in Frederick, food, jewelry and corporate portraits have taken over from heavier industrial subjects.
Father of three grown children with two granddaughters, family is everything to me.
And…every now and then I take the granddaughters fishing!

Jeff's background
In 1984, I left my corporate management position of 10 years with MCL Restaurant and Bakery, based in Indianapolis to pursue my dream of becoming a commercial and advertising photographer.
Starting from scratch in our home in western Pennsylvania, by 1989 we had outgrown the home studio and begun the search for a suitable new location, finally finding the perfect spot in downtown New Castle, PA.
Our restoration of the historic 22,000 sq ft Kirk Hutton Hardware on the town square won State Historic Preservation awards. This enormous space allowed us to have a white cyclorama as well as a black one, multiple sets in operation at the same time, two darkrooms for film and print development, offices, consultation rooms, a paint room, break area, and carpentry space.
Upon moving to Frederick, Maryland, I discovered my true calling to be the demanding disciplines of food and jewelry photography, corporate executive and business portraits.
