Digital Photography Classes, Group or Private Instruction
If you have completed the “Getting to Know Your Digital Camera” class, or are technically able to navigate your camera’s settings, but want to know more, including how to use the M, S, and T modes, maintain the camera, meter the light, manage your storage media, use different types of lighting and properly load images into your computer safely, this is your class.
Taught by Jeff Behm, this class draws upon Jeff’s 27 years as a professional photographer with assignments from California to Europe, in addition to 9 years experience as a photographic educator, including the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, The Trumbull Art Gallery, The Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts, and the USW Continuing Education of Warren, OH.
“Beginning Digital Photography” consists of 4 classes, one per week, 2.5 hours each, Class One starts with technical familiarity with, and knowledge of, camera equipment in general; answering your technical questions, trouble shooting various aspects of each students’ experience, then becoming more familiar with your own camera’s abilities so that the subsequent classes will be more accessible to each student.
Classes Two and Three will then concentrate on various types of lighting – indoors and out, artificial and natural, light modification and tools you can build yourself to enhance your photographic experience and enrich your enjoyment as well as your success. Some outdoor photography will be included for at least one class, weather permitting.
Class Four will be a final review (each class starts with a review of the previous week) and then instruction in essential points of transfer of images to computers, and what to do with them once transferred. A brief introduction to Photoshop Elements is part of this class.
Classes will include assignments for completion and reviews as we progress. Reviews can be public or private, as you prefer. Also included are printed materials to keep. Your digital camera, some ability to use it, and your owner’s manual are required. Please be prepared to take notes, and have access to a computer. If you have a laptop, it’s suggested, especially for the 4th class.

Cost $150 per student, includes printed materials, instruction and your ability to place follow-up calls if questions arise afterwards.
